quarter size ice nuggets!

It is that time of year! The weather is volatile. Last Sunday after church there was a big tornado warning in Buffalo an we all had to pile into the church gym for a half hour. When we were driving home I felt a strong impression to drive around the storm down through Buffalo, St. Michael, then Otsego. Once we got to Elk River the black sky and hale hit us and the radio was telling everyone to get off the road and take shelter. We were a few miles from the safety of our home so I drove very fast! I told Nathan to have his finger on the garage door opener so that when we got close I could just zoom in. I was really bad! Then we got home and within a few minutes it was beautiful and sunny. Crazy Minnesota weather!
Today the sirens went off again and we headed for the basement, I then realized how unprepared we are for any sort of emergency. It really bothers me because I used to be so good with emergency preparedness, and the oldest three members of our family would have been fine, but there were no diapers down there, no blankets, etc. I guess I know what I will be working on in the coming weeks, updating our 72 hour emergency kits to have "baby" stuff.
Please pray for the families in Hugo who lost loved ones and all of their earthly possessions.

Growing up, Climbing Hills, Fighting, and Scaring Our Parents!

It is really neat that my little babies are getting so big and making little milestones everyday. My dear friends Terry and Ellen just welcomed their little Oliver into the world yesterday 8 1/2 weeks early and he is fighting to get big & healthy. All of this makes me think about what our little girls have accomplished in the last 5 months. I really gives me hope for little Oliver. I know he was born earlier and has more hills to climb. But I know how special children are to the Savior, he wants them to thrive and grow.
This is Emma & Sara in the NICU five months ago.

Look at my sick little babies now! Chubby and eating cereal and pears...

Hang in there Oliver, before you know it you will get your cereal and pears too!!

Ellen & Terry are strong, faithful people that want nothing more than prayers that their little guy will heal. Please pray for strength and peace and hope for our friends and check out their progress at http://thebeaudrybeat.blogspot.com/

Last night

Last night was a great night! The girls ate every three hours like clockwork during the day. 7am-play,then nap,
11am-play, then nap, (Emma fussy, got up early),
2 pm-play, then nap (Sara fussy-got up early),
then at night it gets closer
4:30pm-then a short cat nap,
6:30pm then we went out to dinner.
They were super good the whole dinner, which is rather amazing, they are usually bucky at that time of night. We got home from the restaurant at about 8:40, then they got dressed for bed and ate again and were sleeping in their crib by 9:40. I was in bed by 10:00pm and they slept until the next morning, Sara was up at 5:30 and we woke Emma up and they both ate at 6am. Then after eating and playing for about an hour they went back to bed and slept until 9:30ish. They laid in their crib and talked and played together until we went in and fed them again at 10am. I know some of you were praying for us. Thanks, it worked!
